Multi-National Chemicals Leader Royal DSM N.V. (DSM) to Automate Data Access Control and Entitlement Management Using Full Suite of Varonis Software
NEW YORK, NY - Sept. 10, 2008 - Varonis Systems Inc. As part of the deployment, Varonis will provide DSM with DatAdvantage and DataPrivilege. With DatAdvantage, DSM will be able to identify data business owners for the unstructured files residing in over 120 file servers and begin the process of transitioning access control management from IT to those persons ultimately responsible for the data. With DatAdvantage, DSM's IT personnel will also monitor all data access activity to ensure that permissions are being used properly. Once data business owners, compliance officers and other unstructured data stakeholders have been identified, all entitlement management - that is, requests and authorizations to data - will be processed and enforced through Varonis DataPrivilege.
By deploying the complete Varonis data governance suite, DSM will not only gain infrastructure to manage data for years to come through growth and changing access needs but it will also significantly reduce the hours spent in managing and monitoring unstructured data use.
The implementation of DatAdvantage and DataPrivilege will be a step-by-step process. IT will monitor data use while learning about the applications' capabilities for permissions revocations and data entitlement management. This way, in time, DSM will expand file share data protection beyond auditing and reporting to actively changing access rights.
